The Lab Press Machine (also known as laboratory hot press machine or small-scale press machine) is a core equipment in the laboratory specifically designed to apply precise and controlled pressure to samples. Its working principle is based on the hydraulic amplification principle. Fluid is pumped by a pump to establish pressure in the cylinder, which then drives the piston to close the press plate and compress the sample, achieving the conversion of a small amount of energy into a powerful concentrated force. The core components of the laboratory press machine are very crucial, including a frame that provides a rigid structure to withstand high forces, hydraulic units that are either manual or electric and used to generate pressure, a press plate that comes into direct contact with the sample or mold and is partially equipped with heating elements and cooling channels, and a controller or instrument that allows the operator to monitor and set force, temperature, and the duration of the pressing cycle. The types of press machines can be divided into two categories. One is the manual press machine, operated by a manual pump, suitable for low-force applications, diverse but infrequent or budget-constrained laboratories; the other is the automatic press machine, using an electric motor to operate the hydraulic pump, which can set parameters through a digital controller and automatically execute cycles, with higher precision and repeatability, suitable for high-throughput laboratories or applications with high requirements for repeatability.
